The Center for Creative Media houses professional quality digital media equipment supporting the Communication Studies program at Hilbert College. Currently housed in the Campus Center, it will be moving to the new Paczesny Hall in 2006. The Center is equipped with state of the art media production equipment, including 24p and high definition capable video cameras and nonlinear editors, digital photography and digital audio equipment.

A Survivor's Story

By Cheri White. Cheri's senior thesis is in the can, and it was worth the wait. This documentary tells the story of Rob, a survivor of cancer who has gone on to become a fire fighter and an inspiration for the people who know him. Cheri has gone all out for this production, shooting on location all over Bufalo including fire halls, hospitals, and on the road.

MPAA Video

By William Haas for Students in Free Enterprise. Bill has been busy this semester, finishing another production, this time a video for the Motion Picture Association of America for the Students in Free Enterprise club. Bill's production is definately a hit, and we hope he wins the MPAA contest.

Dash Claymation

By Steve Fox. Steve Fox has been busy working on his latest Zombie movie, but he decided to take a side trip into claymation with his latest: Dash's Audition. A short video it took more than 1000 camera shots from a departmental digital SLR to bring this production off.

The New Center

Opens August, 2006. The Center for Creative Media is an innovative New Media college laboratory designed for a wide range of production uses. The designs for the lab were developed by a team of students working in coordination with Professor Steve Jackson, who passed their final design to Silvestri Architects for design.

FireFox Production

By William Haas, Al Leight, Cheri White, and Steve Fox. Bill and company are busy preparing the Hilbert College entry for the FireFox Flicks Ad Contest. The ad is a .30 second spot, produced and shot by students in the Department of Communication Studies, for the Mozilla organization, makers of the Firefox browser.

Communication Studies: The First Year (2004-2005). A short picture essay of the first year of communication studies. 2004 - 2005 was an exciting year for Hilbert College, with the hiring of the first Communication Studies professor, the enrollment of the first ten students in the major, and the opening of the nascent Center for Creative Media.
